Fireworks sparkle above Han River on second night of int’l festival

Da Nang (VNA) – The second night of the Da NangInternational Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018 took place on the banks of the HanRiver on May 26, featuring firework displays of the teams from France and theUS.
Under the theme of “Time”, this second night,held after nearly one month since the opening event on April 30, began withsinging and dancing performances by Vietnamese artists and students of the PhanChau Trinh High School.
The show by team Féerie from France combinedbeautiful melodies and colourful fireworks to arouse the audience’ feelingsabout friendship and show the connectivity of the French and Vietnamese cultures.
Meanwhile, team Atlas PyroVision from the USdrew bridges of dreams and aspirations on Da Nang’s night sky with theirfireworks.
On April 30, teams Da Nang of Vietnam and SurexFirma Rodzinna of Poland were the first to show their fireworks in the DIFF2018.
The event will continue with fireworks shows ofthe teams from Italy and Hong Kong (China) on June 2, and Sweden and Portugalon June 9. The two best teams will perform in the finale on June 30.
Apart from the festival’s overall theme “TheLegend of Bridges”, each of the fireworks nights also takes its own theme,namely Love, Time, Happiness, Desire, and Friendship.
The annual event was first held in 2008 and hasbecome a special attraction of Da Nang city.-VNA

The number of tourists to the central coastal city of Da Nang reached more than 355,500 on holidays between April 28 and May 1, a year-on-year surge of 14.2 percent.
Vietnam’s cinematic appeal lies in its diverse settings, from terraced mountains and limestone karsts to bustling markets and ancient towns. Its mix of ethnic vibes, buzzing street life, and old traditions gives directors a goldmine for storytelling.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
