The programme is broadcast at 9am on Wednesday and repeated at 2.30pm on the next day, with the firstlesson aired on Jan. 4.
The progamme, co-organisedby Korea Foundation in Vietnam , KBS TV, VTV2 and Vietnam NationalUniversity - College of Foreign Languages , is the first Koreanlanguage class to be screened to meet public demand, and also tocelebrate 20 years of Vietnam-Republic of Korea diplomaticrelations.
The class syllabus, with 20 lectures forbeginners, is based on the curriculum of the Korean EducationalInstitute and will be extended to higher levels if successful. It willhelp learners who cannot attend classes to gain access to the language.
Thirteen universities in Vietnam have Koreanlanguage faculties and 18 others include Korean language in theirteaching courses, with a total of 2,200 students./.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
