Flag hoisting marks 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet

The Vietnam People’s Army organised a flag hoisting ceremony on November 13, as part of 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-24) which will take place during November 19 – 28.
The Vietnam People’s Army organised a flag hoisting ceremony on November13, as part of 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-24) which willtake place during November 19 – 28.

After the ceremony, theevent’s organising board held a technical meeting with heads ofparticipating delegations and drew lots to arrange competition schedule.

Athletes from ten ASEAN’s countries including Brunei,Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore,Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam, will compete in five categories at theAARM-24.

Vietnam has sent 31 shooters to this year’s event.

The AARM started in 1990 at the initiative of the ASEAN Chiefs ofArmy, aiming to strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding andfriendship between ASEAN militaries. It is held annually on a rotationalbasis.-VNA
