Foreign diplomats hail WEF ASEAN 2018 theme

The theme “ASEAN 4.0: Entrepreneurship and the Fourth Industrial Revolution” of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) is practical and meets common concern of ASEAN countries and many others around the world.

– The theme “ASEAN 4.0: Entrepreneurship and the FourthIndustrial Revolution” of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) ispractical and meets common concern of ASEAN countries and many others around theworld.

The praise was made by representatives from foreign embassies and internationalorganisations attending a roundtable on WEF ASEAN hosted by the VietnameseMinistry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi on August 21.

Chairing the event, Assistant to the Foreign Minister Nguyen Van Thao affirmed thatWEF ASEAN is a major and prestigious forum in the region, attractinghigh-ranking country leaders, international organisations and corporateexecutives.
 
This is not only one of the important external activities of Vietnam in 2018but also a significant event for the whole ASEAN region, actively contributingto consolidating solidarity and promoting the image of a dynamic and innovativeASEAN in the context of the fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), hesaid.

Most of the participants spoke highly of Vietnam’s preparations for the event.They showed their support for and vowed to closely coordinate with Vietnam inpreparation for WEF ASEAN and ensure the effective participation of countries’high-ranking leaders at the forum.

WEF ASEAN will take place at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi fromSeptember 11-13. The forum will see nearly 60 sessions to discuss start-updevelopment and address issues arising from the revolution.

About 800-1,000 delegates areexpected to join the event.

The WEF was established in 1971 as anon-profit foundation and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The forumengages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shapeglobal, regional and industry agendas.-VNA
