Foreign experts would be vaccinated against COVID-19: Deputy PM

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has asked the Ministry of Health to consider administering COVID-19 vaccines to foreign experts in Vietnam, according to a notice of the Government’s Office.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Le VanThanh has asked the Ministry of Health to consider administering COVID-19vaccines to foreign experts in Vietnam, according to a notice of the Government’sOffice.

The Deputy PM made the request on the basis of thebusiness community’s proposals that have been collected by the Private EconomicDevelopment Research Board under the Advisory Council for AdministrativeProcedure Reform, aiming to deal with difficulties facing enterprises in theface of COVID-19.

Ministries, cities and provinces should reportobstacles to the implementation work to the Prime Minister, he said.  

According to the board, businesses proposed theGovernment extend the priority list in the national vaccine rollout to foreignexperts who are in charge of business activities of firms and foreign countriesin Vietnam.

The experts have travelled frequently and faced a highrisk of infections. However, they haven’t been inoculated in their respectivecountries as they are living and working in Vietnam.

The initiative is expected to contribute to COVID-19prevention and control, while promoting investment and trade in the country./.
