Hanoi (VNA) – President of the Vietnam FatherlandFront (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the ChinaSoong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) Wang Jiarui, who is also former ViceChairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), inHanoi on April 2.

The host expressed his delight at the growth ofVietnam-China relations as seen through frequent mutual high-ranking visits andfruitful cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism. While people-to-peopleexchanges between counterpart organisations have been fostered, friendshipactivities between residents in the countries’ border areas have alsoincreased.

Noting similarities in the roles, functions, andtasks of the VFF and the CPPCC, Man said the two sides have held annual high-leveldelegation exchanges as well as signed agreements to enhance cooperationbetween the two organisations at both central and local levels, thereby helpingto consolidate their countries’ friendship.

He also highly valued the CSCLF as a prestigious,people-based organisation that has contributed greatly to global peace,international friendship, and social progress. It has obtained numerousattainments in mother and child healthcare; education support; povertyreduction; scientific-technological knowledge popularisation; andliterature-arts, sports, and healthcare promotion.

The official voiced his hope that as CSCLFChairman, Wang will continue helping to reinforce the foundation’s relationswith the VFF and its member organisations, as well as to develop the friendshipbetween the Vietnamese and Chinese peoples.

For his part, Wang pledged further contributionsto people-to-people diplomacy and the partnership between the CPPCC and theVFF.

He will also step up the CSCLF’s cooperationactivities in Vietnam so as to help develop the China-Vietnam comprehensivestrategic cooperative partnership, he added. –VNA
