
The cooperation agreement originated from a commonvision in developing Vietnamese football.
This event not only marked a milestone in the effort tomobilise resources for football, but also reaffirmed the role of FPTPlay, a leader in the field of media rights, in contributing to the growth ofthe national teams.
Following their comprehensive and long-term deal, all matchesof the Vietnamese squads which are organised within the territory of Vietnamthat VFF owns the television rights to will be produced andbroadcast by FPT Play.
The national leading multi-platform digital television providerunder FPT Telecom will televise the matches on its platforms, such asterrestrial, cable and satellite TV, IPTV, internet, mobile, publicprojection and social networks from 2023 to 2027.
“With experience in organising, producing and live broadcastingmany world-class matches, such as the 2022 Asian World Cup qualifiers andthe Asian Football Confederation tournament, FPT Telecom in general and FPTPlay in particular are honoured to accompany VFF to bring fans all the matchesof the national team for the next four years," said HoangViet Anh, FPT Telecom CEO.
"This cooperation once again strongly affirms themessage of creating happiness that we have pursued."
"In addition, to strengthen our bilateral cooperation, FPT,as the leading technology corporation in Vietnam, will assist the VFF in allactivities concerning the digital transformation in the upcomingperiod," said Anh, who is also deputy general director of FPT Corporationin charge of Digital Transformation.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, VFF General Secretary DuongNghiep Khoi expressed his trust in the good relationship of the two sides.
“FPT Play has owned broadcasting rights of the nationalpremier league V.League 1 and other international leagues in past years.The company has proven itself a reliable partner with full potentialand experience in implementing the tasks," Khoi said.
"I believe VFF will join FPT Play in bringing specialfootball experiences to supporters across the country in the time to come.”
In VFF's schedule, there are many football matches organised in Vietnamevery year, including with the senior team, Olympic squad, and U22and U23 sides.
VFF confirmed that the first matches to be televised by FTPlay would be between Vietnam and Hong Kong on June 15 at Hai Phong city'sLach Tray Stadium, and Vietnam and Syria on June 20 at Nam Dinh province'sThien Truong Stadium.
In September, the company will also broadcast three games ofthe U23s at the 2024 AFC Asian Cup qualification round.
FPT Play said they were open to sharing their broadcastingrights with other TV networks nationwide.
Currently, they are negotiating with local televisionstations about this issue, hoping to best serve millions of fans./.
