Front pledges transparent funding allocation in support of COVID-19 fight

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) will remain open and transparent in allocating money and goods it has received to promptly support those on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) will remain open andtransparent in allocating money and goods it has received to promptly supportthose on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The statement wasmade by President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man at a ceremony inHanoi on April 20 to receive 100 million VND (4,260 USD) from the Hanoi OpenUniversity and 162 million VND in cash and 308 million VND worth of goods fromthe Vietnam Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises Association.

Man expressed hisgratitude to the donors for working with the Party, State and Government tofight the disease.

On the same day, theVFF chapter in An Giang province and the province’s Central General Hospital received 500SARS-CoV-2 test kits from the Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs’ Association toserve the locality’s COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.

Head of the An Giangchapter of the Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs’ Association Nguyen Thanh Vietsaid that responding to the VFF Central Committee’s appeal, the An Giangchapter had raised 100 million VND from its members to support the fight.

According to the AnGiang VFF chapter, the province has so far received 13 billion VND from organisations,individuals, businesses and religious organisations in support of thoseaffected by the pandemic, and drought and saline intrusion. In addition, 15“rice ATMs” with about 60 tonnes of the grain have been installed in the locality toassist disadvantaged people.

Meanwhile, presidentof the VFF Quang Binh chapter Pham Thi Han said it has received andallocated money and goods totalling 13.3 billion VND to support people affectedby the pandemic and health workers on the front line./.
