– Thai Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak said he willassign the Ministry of Commerce to allocate funds to rebrand Thailand as theworld’s kitchen.

Dr. Somkid said at the ongoing Thaifex - World of Food Asia 2018exhibition that the goal is to create a new generation of Thai chefs that willfurther expand the horizons of Thai cooking on the global market. 

He said that while Thai food has become increasingly popularworldwide, the country needs to innovate the food presentation that makes useof local fruits and vegetables, such as durian and mangosteen, as keyingredients. 

He went on to say that Thailand could take advantage of thediverse and abundant food sources in the country to promote healthy eating forconsumers and tourists.-VNA
