Brasilia (VNA)🐓 – The Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil on February 6 held a gathering to celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025 and the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) (February 3, 1930 – 2025) in Brasilia.

The event saw the participation of Chairwoman of the Communist Party of Brazil (PcdoB) and Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Luciana Santos; Secretary for International Relations of the PcdoB Ana Prestes; Secretary for International Relations of Workers' Party (PT) of Brazil Romenio Pereira; among others. Speaking at the event, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi emphasised that 2025 is a year of innovation, creativity, breakthroughs, and success. It is also the time to look back on the historical journey of the CPV. The ambassador also mentioned Vietnam-Brazil relations, saying that President Ho Chi Minh’s arrival in Rio de Janeiro in 1912 marked the initial connection between the two nations. Since then, the Vietnam-Brazil strategic partnership has continuously developed in various fields such as economy, trade, culture, and education, he noted.
The plaque in memory of President Ho Chi Minh in Rio de Janeiro symbolises friendship and serves as a red address for the younger generations of both countries to learn about history and promote the two countries’ traditional relations. The ambassador said the year 2025 marks many significant events for Vietnam, including the Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress, the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and reunification of the country, and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day. This is an important time for Vietnam to continue promoting socio-economic development and affirming its role as a reliable partner in the international community, he stressed. Nghi expressed a desire to continue receiving support and cooperation from international friends, especially Brazil, to further promote the strategic partnership between the two countries.
For her part, Luciana Santos emphasised a century-old relationship between Vietnam and Brazil. She stressed a determination to promote bilateral cooperation through the Vietnam-Brazil economic cooperation seminar in São Paulo in 2025, aiming to increase trade turnover and expand cooperation in potential fields. Prestes expressed admiration for the CPV’s historical journey, and emphasised that Vietnam's achievements are an inspiration for liberation movements and the struggle for justice worldwide. She affirmed that the CPV will continue to lead the Vietnamese people to achieve greater victories, contributing positively to shaping a multipolar and just world.
Earlier, in a message congratulating the 95th founding anniversary of the CPV, PCdoB and the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association (ABRAVIET) expressed respect for the great achievements of the CPV in the struggle for national liberation, national construction and protection, as well as Vietnam’s innovation and international integration./.
