Germany supports VGU students amid COVID-19

The World University Service (WUS) and authorities of Hessen state of Germany will provide scholarships worth 205,000 EUR (230,625 USD) to students of the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Berlin (VNA) – The World UniversityService (WUS) and authorities of Hessen state of Germany will providescholarships worth 205,000 EUR (230,625 USD) to students of theVietnamese-German University (VGU) who are affected by the COVID-19pandemic.        

WUS President Dr. Kambiz Ghawami said the WUS hassuggested the Hessen Ministry of Science and the Arts grant the scholarships toVGU students amid the pandemic spread.

In a thank-you letter to Minister Angela Dorn, Ghawamisaid the programme acknowledges achievements the university has recorded at theinternational level.

The VGU is a scientific bridge between Vietnam andGermany, and a lighthouse of the bilateral strategic partnership, he stressed.

It is the first public university in Vietnamformed under an agreement between the two governments.
