Hanoi (VNA) - The Government Inspectorate will conducta series of crucial inspections this year, said Deputy Chief of the GovernmentInspectorate Ngo Van Khanh.
Khanh said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the GovernmentInspectorate’s yearly inspection plan. The inspections will include public landuse, officials’ travelling abroad and official ranking in the Ministry of HomeAffairs.
The plan will focus on the use and management of land in someindustrial and processing zones and new urban and key economic areas.
According to the official, the PM ordered the Government Inspectorate to carry out special work related to theuse of public land in prime locations in large cities, including Hanoi, HCMCity, Da Nang, Can Tho and Khanh Hoa province.
The GovernmentInspectorate will inspect theland use of the Vietnam Rubber Corporation and the Vietnam Tea Corporation andCorporation of Forestry.
It also aims at close scrutiny on those lands which used to befor military or national security activities but now are instead being used forother purposes.
This year, a new point was mentioned according to which the GovernmentInspectorate would intensify its co-operation with ministries and sectors tolimit to a minimum a case of overlapping and at the same time promote the efficiencyof specialised inspections, Khanh said.
Unlike the previous year, the Government Inspectorate this year planned to specifically concentrate on environmentalissues, the official added, saying it would closely co-operate with theMinistry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Constructionto undertake comprehensive inspections on environmental protection in new urbanareas, industrial and procession zones.
Khanh said inspection of the Samsung complex in northernmountainous Thai Nguyen province would be of utmost priority since it was amongthe industrial establishments discharging a large amount of industrial waste,including hazardous waste into the environment.
The GovernmentInspectorate would focus oninspecting State-owned restructuring and equitisation in HCM City, the Ministryof Transport and its agencies.
The PM authorised the Government Inspectorate to work with the State Bank of Vietnam to inspect crediting andfinancial investment in commercial banks with large bad debts.
The ministries of defence, public security and health will also beon the list of those entities to be inspected this year.-VNA
