Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucreceived newly-accredited Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam Kyaw Soe Win on April10, voicing his hope for the diplomat’s substantial contributions to thealready sound relationship of the countries.
Vietnam and Myanmar boast long-standingrelations which have been growing in multiple aspects, he said, noting that theircooperation potential remains enormous.
Vietnam is a big investor in Myanmar, particularlyin real estate, banking and telecommunications, the PM said, asking Myanmar tofacilitate the Vietnamese bank branch there, as well as companies investing intelecommunications.
He also called on the countries to expandcooperation to petroleum and aviation industries.
PM Phuc said his country has strength inagricultural production and wants to cooperate and share experience withMyanmar in this sphere, especially coffee and pepper cultivation and processing.The two sides can also partner in producing rice seeds, sugar, ethanol andelectricity, planting and processing cotton, and developing rubber trees.
Wishing the new ambassador a successful term,the host leader said the Vietnamese Government will provide optimum conditionsfor him to fulfill his tasks.
For his part, Kyaw Soe Win pledged utmostefforts to contribute to the countries’ sound connections, especially ineconomy, investment and trade.
As his country is developing its economy, itwants to attract foreign investors, including those from Vietnam, he said,assuring that the Myanmar Government always creates the best possibleconditions for Vietnamese businesses.
The country hopes to learn from Vietnam’sagricultural development experience in order to foster its own agriculture.
The two countries should increase the exchange of high-ranking delegations topromote bilateral ties, the diplomat noted.-VNA
