Hai Duong aims to present Tet gifts to all needy households
The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of the northern province of Hai Duong held a meeting on December 27 to launch a programme to call for support to the poor during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).
Hai Duong(VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of the northern provinceof Hai Duong held a meeting on December 27 to launch a programme to call forsupport to the poor during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).
The programme aims to provide each needy household with a gift worth 500,000VND (22 USD).
It will start from January 1 to February 2, 2018, during which agencies,organisations, enterprises and donors are encouraged to help the poor through theprovincial VFF Committee and socio-political organisations or directly sendingthe gifts to the needy.
As schedule, the giftswill be delivered to the beneficiaries by February 10, 2018.
At the meeting, Presidentof the provincial VFF Committee Vuong Duc Sang asked local departments,agencies and organisations to actively respond to the programme, whilestrengthening communications on it among the public.
Sang also requestedlocalities to promptly review the number of needy households to ensure giftsare given to right people.
Currently, Hai Duonghas 21,104 poor households.-VNA

With just three weeks to go for Tet, the market for gift hampers has heated up with supermarkets, markets and shops offering a range of them to cater to both business and individual customers.
President Tran Dai Quang on January 15 visited and handed over 100 Lunar New Year (Tet) gift packages to welfare policy beneficiaries, poor households and dioxin victims in Nam Dan district in the central province of Nghe An.
