Hai Phong: Most employees return to work after Tet
Nearly 99 percent of labourers have returned to work at industrial parks and economic zones in the northern port city of Hai Phong following the nine-day traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Hai Phong (VNA) – Nearly 99 percent of labourers have returned towork at industrial parks and economic zones in the northern port city of HaiPhong following the nine-day traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
As of February 12 or the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, 90 percent of thecompanies have resumed their operation while the remaining enterprises have alater working calendar, including those with machine maintenance and repair.
Meanwhile, workers in LG Innotek, Dong Yang and Zhong xin Ya came back to workfrom February 8.
Local firms’ improved policies in salaries and bonuses together withtransportation support encouraged workers and helped them feel more secure andengaged in their work.
In recent three years, large projects of LG and Vingroup have attracted morethan 130,000 labourers and 25,000 experts to work in Hai Phong’s economiczones, 40 percent of whom come from other provinces and cities as well as foreigncountries.
Hai Phong is currently home to one economic zone,the Dinh Vu-Cat Hai, and seven industrial parks of Nomura, Dinh Vu, Trang Due,VSIP, An Duong, Do Son, and Nam Cau Kien.-VNA
The Federation of Labour of Ho Chi Minh City on January 19 handed free coach tickets and gifts to over 4,000 poor workers in industrial and export-processing zones in the city on the occasion of the coming traditional lunar New Year.
Thousands of gift packages and free coach tickets have been handed to poor workers throughout the country under a Lunar New Year (Tet) reunion programme launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL).
Free rides home were given to workers at Nomura industrial park in An Duong district in the northern port city of Hai Phong on February 2 ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
