Hanoi boosts tourism with cultural events

The Hanoi Department of Tourism has designed a comprehensive plan to boost tourism demand, tailored to each season and period. Throughout the year, the local tourism sector will host 60 events, promoting the capital’s image and rich cultural heritage.

Hanoi (VNA) ꧅– Hanoi is rolling out an array of vibrant cultural and tourism activities throughout 2025, aiming to attract more visitors and showcase the capital’s rich heritage and creativity.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism plans to participate in the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) Hanoi 2025 and organise a variety of cultural and historical tourism activities. These include the Hanoi Tourism Festival, the third Hanoi Autumn Festival, the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival, and numerous sports and entertainment events. The city also aims to develop more nighttime tourism products to enhance the visitor experience. According to Dang Huong Giang, Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, the agency has designed a comprehensive plan to boost tourism demand, tailored to each season and period. Throughout the year, the local tourism sector will host 60 events, promoting the capital’s image and rich cultural heritage.

Hanoi’s districts will offer a wide range of cultural and tourism activities, including traditional festivals, heritage celebrations, craft showcases, and community-driven events. Highlights include cultural performances, heritage-themed experiences, and creative contests, all designed to showcase the city’s history and vibrant local culture.
In March, the city’s tourism sector will launch new offerings, such as heritage-themed tours, community-based cultural experiences, and rural agricultural tourism initiatives. Hanoi has set an ambitious target of welcoming 31 million tourists in 2025, including approximately 7.5 million international visitors — an 11.2% increase compared to 2024. Total tourism revenue is expected to reach around 130 trillion VND (5.13 billion USD). In the first two months of this year, Hanoi welcomed 4.59 million visitors, marking a 7.4% rise from the same period last year. The city’s tourism strategy for 2025 focuses on promoting cultural and heritage values while promoting Hanoi’s image as a city of modernity, peace, and creativity./.
