Hanoi earmarks 100 billion VND for policy beneficiaries

The Hanoi People’s Committee has earmarked nearly 100 billion VND (4.34 million USD) to present over 123,000 gifts to policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Day of Invalids and Martyrs (July 27).

Hanoi (VNA)🥀 – The Hanoi People’sCommittee has earmarked nearly 100 billion VND (4.34 million USD) to present over123,000 gifts to policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Day of Invalids and Martyrs (July 27).

Accordingly, heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded and sicksoldiers, and relatives of martyrs will receive 1 million VND each while thoseworshipping martyrs will obtain 500,000 VND each. The municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs together with authorities of districts and towns also visited andhanded over gifts to 42 nursing centres for ex-revolutionaries and managementboards of martyrs’ cemeteries, each 6-11 million VND. Seventy-two outstanding individuals who are relatives of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers or ex-revolutionaries infected with Agent Orange/dioxin and living in difficulty received gifts worth2.5 million VND each. On the occasion, Hanoi raised over 27.3billion VND for the gratitude fund, or 123 percent of the plan, granted 4,366saving books valued at more than 5.3 billion VND, repaired 74 works dedicated tomartyrs at a total cost of over 45.6 billion VND, equivalent to 157 percent ofthe plan. Districts and towns sent around374,000 gifts of the State President, the city and their own worth more than164.3 billion VND to policy beneficiaries. The city also built and repaired houses for284 households that rendered service to the nation, at a total cost of over11 billion VND, or 125 percent of the plan./.
