Hanoi eyes stronger cooperation with US localities

Hanoi (VNA) –❀ Secretary of theHanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue has expressed his hope that relationsbetween Hanoi and US localities will be strengthened in the future as themultifaceted cooperation is thriving.
During a reception for US Ambassador toVietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink in Hanoi on July 6, he also affirmed that Hanoialways creates favourable conditions for US firms. At the event, the Hanoi leader spoke highlyof the US Government’s financial support for Vietnam on the disease preventionand control and the medical sector, despite losses brought by COVID-19, hopingthat the US will soon rise over the pandemic. He briefed his guest on Hanoi’s economicachievements in the first six months of 2020, stressing that the Vietnam-UStrade ties are enhanced amid complexities of the pandemic. For his part, Kritenbrink affirmed that theUS-Vietnam economic and trade ties serve as a pillar of the bilateralrelations, hoping that exchanges between Hanoi and US partners will be steppedup across various spheres. The diplomat thanked Hanoi authorities andpeople for presenting over 150,000 face masks to the US, underlining that it representsthe two sides’ bilateral friendship. He also voiced his belief that thebilateral relations will be consolidated in the coming time./.
US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink has highlighted the two countries’ cooperation, as the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (July 12) is just around the corner.
With huge potential for comprehensive cooperation, Vietnam and the US are boosting two-way trade in a more balanced manner to ensure sustainable development, experts have said.

Vietnam and the US have been working together for a number of decades already to clear away unexploded ordnance (UXO) left over from the war, which has proven to be fruitful, especially in central Quang Tri province - the area in Vietnam most contaminated by UXO.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
Deputy PM Le Thanh Long proposed countries promote shared values, including building trust, sincerity, and solidarity among nations and peoples; fostering cooperation spirit and responsible behaviour as well as upholding international law and the UN Charter; and placing people at the centre and as the goal, the key player, and the driving force of all policies.
The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel is closely coordinating with relevant local agencies to stay informed and provide the utmost support possible for Vietnamese nationals.
