TelAviv (VNA) – A delegation led by Vice Secretary of the HanoiParty Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuanvisited Israel from September 14-16 to learn from experience in administrationbuilding and urban development.
While in Israel, they held working sessions with authorities of Modi'inand Tel Aviv cities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, the Israel-Vietnam TradeOffice, the Peres Centre for Peace and Innovation, the Watergen clean watercompany and several Israeli innovative companies.
Both sides discussed promoting ties among cities, sharedexperience in planning socio-economic policies, upholding elected bodies’ rolein overseeing policy implementation, arranging administration’s apparatus, andstepping up investment and cooperation in urban management and development,urban economy, environment protection, climate change response, smart citybuilding, start-ups and innovation, sci-tech, preservation and upholding ofhistorical-cultural values.
Chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities of Israel andMayor of Modi'in city Haim Bibas said Hanoi and Israeli cities need to continueenhancing friendship and share experience in dealing with issues in urbandevelopment, especially in traditional fields.
He vowed to partner and share experience with Hanoi in smartcity building, infrastructure development, digital transformation andinnovation.
ꦰ Tuan wished that the Federation of Local Authorities of Israelwould serve as a bridge linking Hanoi with Israeli localities in the fields oftelecommunications, sci-tech, finance, industry, smart city development,hi-tech agriculture, technological transfer, treatment of air pollution,wastewater and garbages./.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel held a gathering on July 19 to introduce Vietnam’s culture, cuisine and tourism to local friends on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the countries’ diplomatic ties (July 12).
Vietnam wishes to maintain and further expand cooperation with Israel in multiple areas, including trade and economy, science and technology, and innovative start-ups, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung on August 9.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said that Vietnam wants to cooperate with Israel in fields of its strength such as innovation, sci-tech and renewable energy.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
