Hanoi seeks tourism cooperation with Slovak region

Hanoi (VNA) – ViceChairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu and Governor JurajDroba of Slovakia’s Bratislava region on March 20 discussed cooperationpotential between the two sides, especially in the field of tourism.

Suu recalled the visit of SlovakDeputy Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini to Vietnam in 2017, in which heexpressed his wish for stronger cooperation with Hanoi. The visit has helped toexpand cooperation between the two localities, he added.

As Hanoi is undergoing rapidurbanisation, the city wants to expand cooperation with Bratislava region invarious fields, including economy, culture, social affairs, diplomacy, tourismand urban development.

The official proposed the signingof a memorandum of understanding between Hanoi and Bratislava, creating a premisefor closer cooperation in the future. Vietnam and Slovakia should also promotetourism cooperation, along with trade exchanges and economic development, hestressed.

In reply, Juraj Droba saidSlovakia and Bratislava region in particular are paying heed to Vietnam’ssocio-economic achievements over the past years, as well as potential forbilateral cooperation in different fields.

The visit aims to establish aframework to deepen cooperative ties between the two localities, especially intourism, he said.

Droba also suggested the twosides arrange a student exchange programme, thus helping their citizens toenhance cultural exchanges.-VNA
