Hanoi supports human resources development serving tourism

Hanoi (VNA) - The Hanoi Department ofTourism will support human resources development to meet tourism recoveryrequirements in the capital city, according to director of the department DangHuong Giang.
The issue is considered one of the key tasks of themunicipal tourism sector now that local travel agencies are seeking toresume their activities.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many firms had to stop operating. Most of the workers in the industry, especially at travel andtransportation businesses, have temporarily quit and changed jobs, causing asharp decrease in the number of labourers. Over 95 percent of travel businessesand agents have closed or suspended their operations.
For accommodation establishments, about 1,550 establishments temporarily haltedtheir operation or changed occupations, causing nearly 21,500 labourers to lose their job temporarily
🍷 The department ofTourism as well as relevant authorities need to support human resource training, said Truong Quoc Hung, President of the UNESCO Travel Club of Hanoi.
Last year, it coordinated with a number of universities and the Vietnam NationalAdministration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports andTourism to organise three training courses for 369 people who were working inState management in the field at all levels, and human resourcesserving in the sector in the city
꧃ In addition to human resources development, the department will continue to support businesses and employees by proposingauthorities to develop policies on reducing taxes, land rents, and interest rates; and rescheduling debts and payment of social insurance, according to officials, adding that tt will also help travel firms promote their tourism products and recognition of brands throughevents and festivals, media channels, websites, fanpages of the the city; and developnew tourism products and models./.
