Hanoi to host Int’l Conference on Vietnamese Studies

Hanoi (VNA)🅷 – The fifthInternational Conference on Vietnamese Studies will be held in Hanoi onDecember 15-16, announced the Vietnam National University (VNU) – Hanoi onDecember 8.

The conference will be organised bythe Vietnam National University – Hanoi under the theme “SustainableDevelopment in the Context of Global Change”. It aims to establish an internationalacademic forum for experts to discuss and propose solutions to tacklingtemporary issues that Vietnam is dealing with in the context of global change. It also gathers and connectsresearchers and experts from various fields and different countries in promotingthe global network of Vietnamese Studies. The conference will cover sixspecialised fields: diplomacy, international cooperation and integration,cultural resource, education and human resource, knowledge and technologytransfer, economy - livelihood and climate change. Vice President of VNU – Hanoi NguyenHuu Duc, Head of the organising board, said that the conference is expected todraw 150 scientists, experts and policymakers from 30 countries andterritories. The number of research on VietnameseStudies amounts to 40,000 and works of foreign scholars account for 50 percentof those, he added, affirming that many international researchers are payingattention to Vietnamese Studies.-VNA
