Hanoi to host Vietnam ICT summit

More than 500 delegates including authorities, international and domestic experts and businessmen are expected to gather late this month for a forum on information and communication technology (ICT) in Hanoi.
More than 500 delegates including authorities, international anddomestic experts and businessmen are expected to gather late this monthfor a forum on information and communication technology (ICT) in Hanoi.

The 2015 Vietnam ICT summit organised by theVietnam Software Association (VINASA) will discuss the application ofICT in managing key sectors and social services.

Participants will discuss ICT application to enhance the capacity ofthe healthcare sector; improve human resources, public management andservices; and develop smart transport systems and cities.

A number of meetings will also be organised during the event toconnect businesses, investors and organisations in the sector.

In 2014, VINASA in collaboration with the Asian-Oceania ComputingIndustry Organisation held the biggest annual event for the regionalsoftware and ICT industry themed “ICT: The new paradigm insocio-economic development and agricultural restructuring”.

The event, attracting about 700 domestic and internationalparticipants, helped speed up the development of the Vietnamese ICTindustry as well as the country's economy and society.

The annual summit, first launched in 2011, has made significantcontributions to fostering ICT application in the nation’smodernisation.-VNA

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
