Hanoi (VNA) - The Hanoi People’s Committee has proposed regulationsrelated to underground parking space in high-rises to the municipal People’sCouncil, which will be approved in a meeting in July.

Accordingly, at least 22 percentof the total construction area must be dedicated to underground parking spacein new buildings in downtown districts; it is 17 percent for other districts.

The People’s Committee saidthe regulations proposed are based on the established rules on parking areas bythe Ministry of Construction, and on the real demand for parking in the city.

In 2016, the municipalDepartment of Planning and Architecture had issued a regulation that a buildingmust have at least three underground floors, but soon after, it was withdrawnbecause it did not reflect the reality.
