HCM City fosters judicial cooperation with Mozambique

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Phong has pledged to boost cooperation with Mozambique in justice, trade, investment, agriculture and education.

HCM City (VNA)ꦅ – Chairman of thePeople’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Phong has pledged to boostcooperation with Mozambique in justice, trade, investment, agriculture andeducation.

During his reception for visiting MozambicanAttorney-General Beatriz Buchili on August 23, Phong lauded the recently signedmemorandum of understanding between the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnamand the Mozambican Attorney General’s Office, saying that it lays a legalfoundation for the People’s Procuracy of HCM City to boost cooperation withjudicial agencies of Mozambican localities.

He expressed his hope that Mozambique willcontinue facilitating Vietnamese firms’ operation in the country.

The municipal leader forwarded to the relatedagencies for consideration the suggestion to establish the HonoraryConsulate of Mozambique in Ho Chi Minh City made by the MozambicanAttorney-General and the Embassy of Mozambique in Vietnam.

For her part, Beatriz Buchili expressed heradmiration for the dynamic development of the city, expressing her hope thatlocal authorities will support cooperation between the municipal People’sProcuracy and the judicial agencies of Mozambican localities.

ꦡ In 2016, bilateral trade between Vietnam andMozambique reached 100 million USD in 2016. The two nations have jointlyimplemented cooperation projects in agriculture, health care, telecommunicationand education.-VNA
