HCM City grants QR codes to over 12,000 vehicles transporting essential goods

The Transport Department of Ho Chi Minh City as of July 11 afternoon had granted QR identification codes to over 12,000 vehicles, which are allowed to transport essential goods through COVID-19 quarantine checkpoints in the city – Vietnam’s now largest pandemic outbreak hotspot.

HCM City (VNA) – The Transport Department of Ho Chi Minh City as ofJuly 11 afternoon had granted QR identification codes to over 12,000 vehicles,which are allowed to transport essential goods through COVID-19 quarantinecheckpoints in the city – Vietnam’s now largest pandemic outbreak hotspot.

Accordingly, from July 8-11, the department issued QR codesto a total of 12,207 vehicles of 22 units to facilitate the transportation ofessential goods.

Trucks from neighbouring provinces must be identified by QRcodes so that they can pass through anti-pandemic checkpoints quickly.

With all three of its largest wholesale markets and half of thetraditional markets, supermarkets and food stores closed, the city ispublicising information about 2,833 food supply points with locations, contactphone numbers and delivery methods for people to easily access them.

The city Department of Industry and Trade said the list ofthese places will be sent to each district, ward and commune, adding the numberof places is high and they are widely distributed, and so the public could beassured of uninterrupted supply./.
