HCM City (VNA) -🤪 Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong greeted visiting Lao Defence Minister Chansamone Channhalat on June 21.
Phong congratulated Chansamone Channhalat on his election to the Politburo and as the head of the Defence Ministry and spoke highly of the Lao official’s decision to visit Vietnam first after taking office.
Ho Chi Minh City is leading other provinces and cities nationwide in terms of engagements with Lao localities, particularly Vientiane and Champasak, Phong said.
He told his guests about a number of projects that the southern hub is running in Laos, including those on assisting Vientiane in boosting budget management capacity and Champasak province in planning Parksong town.
Chansamone Channhalat said Lao localities appreciate the assistance they have received from Ho Chi Minh City.
He lauded achievements of the business hub attained in military and socio-economic development, which he considered as valuable lessons and experience to be learned by Laos during its own development path.-VNA
