Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of National Assembly deputies from Ho Chi Minh City began a workingvisit to France on September 16.
The delegation,led by Head of the HCM City Party Committee’s Board for Information andEducation Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue,had a working session with vice chairman of the Council of Lyon Max Vincent during which Vincentintroduced his guests about Lyon’s election rules, regional budget collectionand expenditure and preferential tax policies for small- and medium-sizedenterprises and startup businesses.
The French official said he expects the two sides willcooperate in urban development, urban lighting and development of publicspaces.
Khue, for hispart, said he is happy to see the Vietnam-France strategic partnership hasproduced fruits, and in such context, the friendship and cooperation betweenHCM City and Lyon has effectively developed, especially in urban art lighting.
Lyon helpedHCM City carry out art lighting projects of various iconic buildings in the Vietnamese southern hub, such as Ho ChiMinh City Hall, Saigon Central Post Office and HCM City Museum of Fine Arts.
The Vietnameseofficial hoped that Lyon will continue fostering cooperation with the HCM City People’s Council and NA deputy delegation.
Later the sameday, the Vietnamese delegation met with director of Lyon’s public dialogue Pierre Houssais and paid a field trip toexplore how to develop inner-city waterways./.
France’s Lyon city has inked an agreement on technical support for a lighting project at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum, according to Sai Go Giai phong newspaper.
Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Le Thanh Liem hosted a reception on October 18 for Max Vincent, Vice President of France’s Lyon, during which they signed a cooperation agreement for 2018-2020 between the two sides.
