The event was announced by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committeeof Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) at a pressconference on October 10.
Vice Chairwoman of the committee Trieu Le Khanh saidproceedings from the show will be channeled to the “For the poor” fund to beused for humanitarian activities such as building houses for households livingunder or just above the poverty line, presenting Nguyen Huu Tho scholarships,funding vocational training and foreign language learning for those indisadvantaged circumstances, among others.
Diep Buu Chi, HTV Deputy General Director, said the eventwill feature exchanges with people dedicating to social work over the pastyears.
Since 2018, the VFF chapters at all levels in HCM City haveraised over 377 billion VND (16.3 million USD), built more than 710 houses andrepaired over 920 others, presented more than 30,000 Nguyen Huu Thoscholarships and 467 bicycles to students, 33,300 health insurance cards, millionsof gifts to policy beneficiaries, poor and near-poor households at a total costof over 303 billion VND./.
