HCM City needs 30,000 labourers in May

Recruitment demand of Ho Chi Minh City continues to increase in May, needing about 30,000 workers, according to the city’s Resources Forecast and Labour Market Information (Falmi) Centre.

HCM City (VNA) – Recruitment demand of Ho Chi MinhCity continues to increase in May, needing about 30,000 workers, according tothe city’s Resources Forecast and Labour MarketInformation (Falmi) Centre.

Falmi Director Tran Thi AnhDao said that the labour market witnesses a trend of increase in quantity andreduction in the demand on labourers for simple jobs.

Specifically, the city’s demandof trained labourers is 78.23 percent, including 23.68 percent of universitygraduates.

A rise is seen in the demand onlabourers in industry, trade and service, real estate, transportation, storage,import-export. Many businesses are in need of labourers in financial-banking,architecture-construction, information technology, and electrics.

A Falmi survey showed thatover 10,000 labourers are seeking for jobs in sale and marketing, accounting-auditing,office administration, transportation-storage-import-export, andmechanics-automation.

As many as 33.68 percent ofthem expect a wage from 5-8 million VND (215 – 343 USD) per month, while 25.49percent request 8-10 million VND per month, 19.46 percent hopes for 10-15million VND per month, 9.65 demands over 15 million VND monthly and 11.72percent wish for under 5 million VND per month.

According to Associate Prof.Dr. Le Van Tan, Vice Principal of the Ho Chi Minh University of Industry, themajority of 5,000 vacancies offered in the recruitment festival held recentlyare in information technology, mechanics, automobile, electronics, environment,construction, finance and tourism.

He added that foreignrecruiters focus more on labourers’ qualification and productivity.

It is forecast that in 2019,HCM City needs 320,000 labourers.-VNA
