HCM City praises religious volunteers’ contribution to fighting against pandemic
Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front on December 27 held a ceremony honouring 20 religious volunteers who have completed their task of supporting frontline forces at COVID-19 treatment hospitals in the city.

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front on December 27held a ceremony honouring 20 religious volunteers who have completed their taskof supporting frontline forces at COVID-19 treatment hospitals in the city.
They are among 679 volunteers of different religious groups who have taken part inCOVID-19 prevention and control in various hospitals since July 22.
Addressingthe event, on behalf of staff at COVID-19 Intensive Care Hospital, doctor PhamHoang Duong gave thanks to religious volunteers who joined hands to assist thehealth workers in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to caringfor patients, they have become an encouragement for frontline forces in completingits mission.
Phan KieuThanh Huong, deputy chairwoman of the HCM City VietnamFatherland Committee, expressed gratitude for all the volunteers who have sacrificed tosupport the country’s pandemic hotspot and the city’s frontline forces.

Nineteen volunteers who are Buddhist and Catholic dignitaries and followers in Ho Chi Minh City have joined the frontline forces in COVID-19 treatment in Trung Vuong Hospital and Gia Dinh People’s Hospital in the city.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the city Party Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission and municipal Religious Affairs Committee on October 8 held a send-off ceremony for 50 volunteers who are Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers to join frontline forces in the fight against COVID-19 at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Hospital.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the city's Committee for Religious Affairs on October 13 honoured 82 religious volunteers who have worded side by side with medical workers at local COVID-19 treatment hospitals.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
