– Ho Chi Minh City and Gyeongsangbuk-do province of theRepublic of Korea need to actively coordinate and boost their cooperative andfriendly activities under a cooperation agreements between the two localities.

Le Thanh Liem, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, madethe statement while hosting Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do province JooJoong Chul in Ho Chi Minh City on March 7.

HCM City asked the RoK side to support and facilitate connectivity activitiesof relevant agencies in making specific plans on organising economic andcultural activities of the Vietnamese southern hub in the RoK in 2018, Liemsaid.

He expressed his delight over effective cooperation between the two localitiesin the past time, especially the successful organisation of the Ho Chi MinhCity-Gyeongju World Cultural Festival in 2017.

Joo Joong Chul, for his part, said that the festival was a significant milestonefor both sides to boost collaboration in various fields.

He stressed that the RoK side stands ready to support HCM City to organiseVietnamese cultural festival in Gyeongsangbuk-do as well as exchange experiencein improving the quality of human resources with the city to enhance mutualunderstanding and solidarity.-VNA
