HCM City, Vientiane capital realise cooperation agreements

HCMCity (VNA) – Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen ThanhPhong and Vientiane Governor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune have agreed to activelyrealise the jointly-signed cooperation agreements between the two cities.

Duringtheir talks in HCM City on March 29, the two sides agreed to continue fosteringfriendship and cooperation, contributing to nurturing the traditionalfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the twoParties, the States and the two cities.

The two localities will co-organise activities to mark the 55th anniversary ofVietnam – Laos diplomatic ties and 40th anniversary of the Vietnam – LaosTreaty of Amity and Cooperation.

They also agreed on continuing the exchange of their delegations, whileboosting cooperation in investment, trade, culture and education.

HCMCity and Vientiane capital will share experiences in tax, financial managementand investment attraction, strengthen trade and investment exchange betweentheir enterprises and develop trade and tourism centres in their respectivelocalities.

At the talks, Phong affirmed that HCM City treasures and will do its utmost toprotect, consolidate and develop the special relationship with Laos in generaland Vientiane in particular.

SinlavongKhoutphaythoune highly valued the support the HCM City has provided forVientiane over the past years, particularly technical assistance for beefcattle farming, human resources training, and scholarship granting.

Heexpressed his hope that HCM City will continue providing support for Vientiane inthe framework of cooperation from 2015-2020, sharing experience in luringforeign direct investment and enhancing capacity in tax and banking management.-VNA
