While receiving Belarusian Deputy Ministerof Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas on December 5, Vice Chairman of the HCMCity People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said Vietnam and Belarus have maintainedgood relations since the two nations officially established diplomatic ties in1992.
He told his guest that a delegation ofHCM City has recently paid a working visit to Belarus for the first time,opening up a new chapter in its cooperative relations with Belarus, includingthe capital city of Minsk.
Liem applauded Belarus’s wish toparticipate in metro construction projects in HCM City, adding that the citywants to cooperate and share experiences and technologies with Belarus inproducing medical equipment.
He also spoke highly of effectivecooperation between the Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO)and the Minsk Automobile Plant Joint Stock Company (Maz).
Dapkiunas highly evaluated thecooperation and friendship between HCM City and Belarus, including Minsk.
He said it is an honour for Belarus tojoin in the Vietnam Expo 2018, saying it was a chance for Belarusian productsto penetrate the Vietnamese market, thereby further promoting economic andtrade ties between the two countries.
The deputy minister said Belarus wantsto cooperate with HCM City in the fields of public transportation vehiclemanufacturing, metro construction, scientific and technological development,and education.-VNA
