HCM City's leader hopes to foster cooperation with Italy

HCM City (VNA) – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Phong hosted an online reception for outgoing Italian ConsulGeneral in HCM City Dante Brandi on July 28.
Phong expressed his delight at the fruitful development of the Vietnam-Italy strategicpartnership, while lauding the role of Brandi inpromoting the relations between the two countries as well as ties between HCMCity and Italy, especially in the fields of culture and heritage conservation.
The chairman said he hoped Brandi’s successor willcontinue to help strengthening collaboration between Italy and HCM City ineconomy, trade, science-technology and education, while continue efforts toimplement joint initiatives and cooperation projects between the two sides.
He wished that the Italian diplomat will continue to gainnew successes in his new position.
For his part, Brandi thanked HCM City's leaders andadministration for creating optimal conditions and supporting him to fulfill his tasks.
On the occasion, the city's administration presented Brandiwith a Ho Chi Minh City Insignia, which will be transferred to the Italian Consulate General./.
President Sergio Mattarella emphasised important roles of businesses, associations and universities in materialising reforms and innovations, and strengthening cooperation between Italy and Vietnam.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mang hoped that economic and trade cooperation between the city and Italy will be growing extensively, bringing practical benefits to both sides.
