HCM CITY (VNA)🏅 – Vice chairman of Ho Chi MinhCity People’s Committee Bui Xuan Cuong on April 20 received RegionalRepresentative for Asia - Pacific of the International Organisation of LaFrancophonie (OIF) in Hanoi Edgar Doerig who is paying a working visit to thecity.
At the meeting,Cuong asked Edgar Doerrig to support the operation of cultural andFrench teaching centres in the city and at the Institute of Cultural Exchangewith France (IDECAF). He also called forsupport to activities between the city and French-speaking partners, France,and the community of French-speaking countries in fields. For his part, Edgar Doerig said that OIF expects to furtherpromote investment and trade activities between France and Vietnam, includingHo Chi Minh City. Appreciating thepotential of the city in cooperation with French-speaking partners, EdgarDoerrig said that, besides the traditional relationship in informationtechnology, the two sides will continue to promote cooperation in agriculturalproduction and exports./.
Vietnam together with other nine countries representing member states and observers of the International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) have promoted their cuisines and cultures at the Francophonie month in Malaysia.
