Honda Vietnam joins police in traffic safety efforts

The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security and Honda Vietnam will join hands in implementing traffic safety activities for the 2019-2021 period under a cooperation programme signed on January 21.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry ofPublic Security and Honda Vietnam will join hands in implementing trafficsafety activities for the 2019-2021 period under a cooperation programme signedon January 21.

Accordingly, the two sides will partner up to organise training courses on motorcycleand car driving for officers and soldiers of the department, as well asmunicipal and provincial police, along with courses to popularise the Law onRoad Traffic.

They will also exchange documents on driver training, study issues regardingtraffic safety, and coordinate with each other in the communication work.

[Traffic safety year launched in Hanoi]

General Director of Honda Vietnam Toshio Kuwahara said that over the past eightyears, his company has teamed up with the department to implement trainingcourses for over 2,600 officers and soldiers, and carried out multiple communicationactivities to raise public awareness of traffic safety.

Lieut. Gen. Vu Do Anh Dung, head of the department, said apart from trainingcourses for officers and soldiers, Honda Vietnam organised traffic safetyprogrammes for more than 9.9 million students and youths in 2016 and 2017.

Honda Vietnam has presented nearly 2million helmets to first graders nationwide during the 2018-2019 academic year.–VNA
