Hung Ha bridge connecting Hung Yen, Ha Nam to open on Jan 26
The Hung Ha bridge, linking the Red River delta provinces of Hung Yen and Ha Nam, and connection roads to Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway will be open to traffic on January 26, according to the project investor - the Management Board of Thang Long project.

Hanoi (VNA)ဣ - The Hung Ha bridge, linking the Red River delta provincesof Hung Yen and Ha Nam, and connection roads to Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway willbe open to traffic on January 26, according to the project investor - theManagement Board of Thang Long project.
The project ispart of a larger one to build roads connecting the Hanoi – Hai Phong and CauGie – Ninh Binh expressways, with total length of 47.7km, which includes the HungHa bridge with a length of over 2.1km and two approach roads with a totallength of nearly 4km. The bridge, crossing the Hong (Red) River, begins at Phuong Chieu Commune, Hung Yen cityand ends at Bac Ly Commune, in Ly Nhan district of Ha Nam province. The project isexpected to help Hung Yen and Ha Nam provinces attract investment and improvesocio-economic growth. According to a representative of the investor, theproject started in May 2016. Under the contract, the project was to becompleted in 36 months, in May 2019. However, with the direction of theMinistry of Transport and support from local authorities, all work has beencompleted and the bridge can open to traffic five months ahead of schedule. The bridge, which is 22.5m wide with six lanes,has total investment of over 2.96 trillion VND (126 million USD), with 2.5trillion VND coming from the Republic of Korea’s Economic DevelopmentCo-operation Fund and the rest from the Vietnamese government. It helps shorten the distance from Hung Yen toPhu Ly city of Ha Nam to only 20km with travel time of 20 minutes instead ofthe current 40 minutes. The bridge will enhance the transport capacityof the two national highways and stimulate the socio-economic development ofthe Red River Delta region. At the same time, the project will contribute toeasing traffic pressure on highways No.1 and No.5 as well as in Hanoi.-VNA
The Ministry of Finance and the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of Korea (RoK) signed two official development assistance (ODA) loan agreements totally worth 162 million USD in Hanoi on July 9.
