Hung Yen People’s Council adopts 19 resolutions during 14th session

The 14th session of the 17th-tenure People’s Council of the northern province of Hung Yen adopted 19 resolutions after two working days on July 5 and 6, including a resolution on socio-economic development tasks in the second half of 2023.

Hung Yen, (VNA)𓆉 – The 14th session of the 17th-tenure People’s Council of the northern province of Hung Yen adopted 19 resolutions after two working days on July 5 and 6, including a resolution on socio-economic development tasks in the second half of 2023.

Chairman of the council Tran Quoc Toan urged the provincial People’s Committee, departments, agencies, local administrations and the provincial People’s Council deputies to quickly work out specific solutions based on their situation in order to fulfil to the best possible targets and tasks set for this year.

He also asked the provincial People’s Committee to urgently direct the implementation of the provincial People’s Council’s resolutions. The standing board and deputies of the provincial People’s Council must uphold their role in supervising the realisation of the resolutions adopted at the council’s 14th session, he said.  Toan stressed that the provincial People’s Council should closely monitor the settlement of local voters’ petitions and complaints while continuing to keep close connections with voters to timely know and reflect their opinions and aspirations. The 14th session of the 17th provincial People’s Council reviewed and assessed the implementation of socio-economic development, State budget and public investment tasks in the first half of the year, and decided the tasks for the second half. The council also approved investment policy for important projects and key policies of the province.

The council also looked into the outcomes of the reception of citizens and settlement of petitions and denunciations related to corruption and wastefulness, crime prevention and control, and trial and sentence enforcement of civil cases.

൩ Hung Yen, like other cities and provinces in the country, has faced great difficulties since early this year due to complicated developments in regional and world political and economic situation greatly affecting the global supply chain and pushing up materials and fuel prices.

However, under the strong leadership of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee and with great efforts of local residents and business community, Hung Yen recorded positive socioeconomic results in the first half of this year. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of the province expanded 8.21% in the period. As such, Hung Yen maintained its place among localities with highest growth rates, ranking 7th among 63 provinces and centrally-run cities in the country and 4th in the Red River Delta region.
Delegates at the 14th session of the 17th-tenure People’s Council urged attention to outstanding issues such as unstable prices and supply of construction materials, incomplete planning of the local irrigation network, the slow construction of workers’ housing projects, and the conservation of historical and cultural relics./.
