Jakarta (VNA) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) hasrevised up its outlook on Indonesia’s economic growth despite the fundprojecting much lower figures for the global economy amid prolonged economicuncertainty and geopolitical strains.

According to the IMF’s World Economic Outlookreport in April, Indonesia’s GDP growth could reach 5% this year, or 0.2percentage points higher than the fund’s January report.

Faisal Rachman, economist at state-owned lender Bank Mandiri, said the fund’s more optimistic outlook for Indonesia was due to the country’ssolid domestic economy. This would allow the economy to remain resilient in2023 despite flagging global growth.

🔯 Despite the stellar outlook, Faisal expectsthat Indonesia’s GDP growth this year will be lower than last year with thefigure sliding to 5.04% from the previous 5.31%./.
