Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 14 issued disciplinary measures for Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and former Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen in respect of their wrongdoings.

The PM decided to give a reprimand to Dung for his violations and shortcomings during the performance of duties when he headed the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) in the 2016 - 2021 tenure.

Meanwhile, the PM gave a warning to Chuyen for her wrongdoings and mistakes during the performance of duties while serving as MoLISA Minister in the 2011 - 2016 tenure.

Earlier, a reprimand and a warning were respectively issued for Dung and Chuyen by the Politburo and the Party Central Committee's Secretariat at a meeting held on April 19.

At that meeting, after considering proposals from the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat concluded that the Party Civil Affairs Committee of MoLISA in the 2011 - 2016 tenure and the 2016 - 2021 tenure violated the principle of democratic centralism, the Party’s regulations, the State’s laws and working rules, and showed a lack of responsibility and relaxed leadership and direction, leading to many violations and wrongdoings by the ministry as well as some collectives and individuals.

The wrongdoings by the ministry's Party Civil Affairs Committee in the 2011 - 2016 and 2016 - 2021 tenures were systematic, lasted for a long time, caused big losses to time, human resources and the state budget, led to serious and difficult-to-remedy consequences, stirred public concern, and eroded the reputation of the Party organisation and MoLISA.

The Politburo and the Secretariat said Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the ministry's Party Civil Affairs Committee and Minister, had violated the principle of democratic centralism, the Party’s regulations, the State’s laws, the regulations on things that a Party member is banned from doing, the responsibility of setting good examples, and working rules. He had relaxed leadership, direction and management, thus enabling the ministry and some of its collectives and individuals to commit many violations and shortcomings, causing very big losses and waste to the state budget, leading to serious and difficult-to-remedy consequences, stirring public concern, and hurting the reputation of the Party organisation and MoLISA.

Meanwhile, Chuyen, as member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the ministry's Party Civil Affairs Committee and Minister, had violated the principle of democratic centralism, the Party’s regulations, the State’s laws, the regulations on the things that a Party member is banned from, the responsibility of setting good examples, and working rules. She had also relaxed leadership, direction and management. That enabled the ministry and some of its collectives and individuals to commit many violations and shortcomings, and infringe legal regulations during order placement and creating conditions for the AIC company to engage in bidding packages, thus causing big losses and waste to the state budget, leading to serious and difficult-to-remedy consequences, stirring public concern, and eroding the reputation of the Party organisation and MoLISA.

🍰 The Politburo decided to give a reprimand to Dung and a warning to Pham Thi Hai Chuyen. The Secretariat decided to issue a reprimand to the Party Civil Affairs Committee of MoLISA in the 2016 - 2021 tenure, and a warning to the committee in the 2011 - 2016 tenure./.
