Ha Giang (VNA) - A clean water supply facility funded by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam was unveiled in Meo Vac district, the northernmost province of Ha Giang, on March 21, helping hundreds of local residents gain access to clean water.

Built with a total investment of over 1.1 billion VND (nearly 43,000 USD), the project in Khai Hoang II village of Xin Cai commune includes a water intake structure, a settling and filtration tank, a storage tank, and a network of pipelines.

It ensures reliable water supply for 44 households with more than 390 people, and all pupils of Xin Cai commune’s kindergarten.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya showed his hope that the facility will bring long-term benefits to the local community, contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents, especially those in remote border areas, and also further tighten the friendship and solidarity between India and Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Hanh, Principal of Xin Cai commune's kindergarten, said this project makes it easier to care for and educate pupils of the school.
