Hanoi (VNA) - The number of people who survive in the landslide and flash flood in Bone Bolango district of Gorontalo province, Indonesia, increased to 95 on July 10, while 27 others were still missing, according to an official.

The death toll of the July 6 disaster, which occurred at an illegal gold mine, was 23 as no other bodies were discovered, said Ida Bagus Nyoman Ngurah Asrama from the Gorontalo search and rescue office.

Rescue efforts were hampered by poor weather and unstable soil conditions, with a halt in the search operation due to the heavy rain on July 10.

🥂 Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency spokesperson Abdul Muhari said torrential rains that had pounded the mountainous district since July 6 triggered the landslide and broke an embankment, causing floods up to the roofs of houses in five villages in Bone Bolango. Nearly 300 houses were affected and more than 1,000 people fled to safe places./.
