Sydney (VNA) –Indonesian President Joko Widodo will discuss the p😼rospect of joint patrolswith Australia in the East Sea when he meets Autralian Prime M♒inister MalcomTurnbull at the weekend.

Speaking with The Australiannewspaper, the President said joint patrols may be conducted surrounding theNatuna Islands of Indonesia, the southern part of the East Sea. An agreement to conduct joint patrolsbetween Indonesia and Australia will be “emphatic evidence that defencerelations between the two neighbours sustained no permanent damage from lastmonths’ defence stoush”, he affirmed. During his two-day visit to Australiafrom February 25, President Widodo is scheduled to meet with Prime MinisterTurnbull, the Governor-General of Australia and Indonesia’s business leadersand students.-VNA
