Hanoi (VNA) - 🌊Indonesia has been exploring new export destinations beyond the US and plans to accelerate trade negotiations in anticipation of new US tariffs.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on February 20 that the Indonesian government is seeking new export markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Several trade agreements are expected to be finalised soon, leveraging opportunities with BRICS and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Airlangga noted that the government continues to monitor global trade developments and conditions.
Given current trends, there has been relatively no disruption to our trade, as 83% of Indonesia's trade is conducted outside the US, he said. He remains optimistic that Indonesia will continue to engage in global trade with various nations and is well-positioned to withstand external pressures due to its strong domestic market resilience./.
