Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on August 2 said that his government has established an integrated COVID-19 management roadmap, reported Antara news agency.

At an online event, he said that the programme involves integrated and holistic management of testing, tracing, and treatment; vaccination programme; as well as the health protocols.

The Indonesian government already has a timetable for handling COVID-19, including the testing of 500,000 people per day, aimed at reducing the infection rate to below 5 percent by October-December from 25 percent in June-July, he said.

It is also concerned about beds conversion and occupancy rate, which is estimated to be around 50-70 percent in August.

The figure is hoped to keep declining to be under 50 percent in October-November, he said.

The minister stated that the government will also continue with the mass vaccination programme since vaccine stocks are currently adequate.

Noting that the Delta variant of the coronavirus can spread very quickly, with patients who are not treated quickly having a high mortality rate, he has assured the government is striving to improve the current situation./.
