Indonesia: four injured in Bali earthquake

At least four people were injured and dozens of houses, temples, schools and offices were damaged in a 6.4-magnitude earthquake that hit the Indonesian resort island of Bali on March 22.

Hanoi (VNA) – At least four people, including three children, were injuredand dozens of houses, temples, schools and offices were damaged in a6.4-magnitude earthquake that hit the Indonesian resortisland of Bali on March 22.

Accordingto the Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), theinjured were transported to nearby hospitals.

The quake affected Denpasar city, and the districts of Jembrana, Klungkung,Tabanan, Bangli, Gianyar and Karang Asem.

Previously,at around 6:10 am on March 22 (local time), the quake hit Bali island at adepth of 117 kilometres, 23 kilometres southeast of Denpasar city.

Indonesianauthorities said there was no tsunami warning because the epicenter was sodeep.
