Indonesia, France strengthen ties in key sectors

Hanoi (VNA)ဣ - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on May 28 hosted French President Emmanuel Macron in Jakarta for high-level talks covering key sectors such as defence, energy, economy, investment, education, and transport.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Prabowo said the two sides had agreed to take their partnership further by adopting a shared vision leading up to the 100th anniversary of Indonesia-France relations in 2050. In the defence sector, the two countries pledged to enhance collaboration, including efforts to build human resource capacity. On the economic front, both leaders voiced support for more balanced trade and investment ties.
He added that bilateral relations had also improved in culture, the creative economy, transportation, and education.
During the visit, a total of 21 cooperation documents were signed or presented, reflecting a robust commitment to bilateral collaboration. These agreements span various formats, covering fields such as defence, agriculture, critical minerals, sustainable forestry, creative and cultural industries, disaster risk management, transportation, and sports./.
