All 108 people on board, including seven crew members, five children and one infant, survived the impact.

Accordingto the Indonesian Transportation Ministry, the country's NationalTransportation Safety Committee (KNKT) is collecting flight data andplanning to lift the body of the downed Boeing 737 aircraft to thebeach.

The Indonesian pilot, who had more than10,000 flying hours, and the Indian co-pilot tested negative for drugsand alcohol in preliminary tests.

The aircraft landed successfully in two other cities before the crash, Lion Air General Affairs Director Edward Sirait.

Foundedin 1999, Lion Air has quickly become Indonesia ’s top low-costcarrier, holding about a 45 percent market share in the country.-VNA
