Jakarta (VNA) – IndonesianPresident Joko Widodo made an official visit to Iran on December 14 to discusscooperation.

In their meeting, IndonesianPresident Joko Widod and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani discussed measures topromote bilateral cooperation.

The two Presidents witnessed thesigning of Memorandums of Understanding between the two countries onextradition, judicial assistance and cooperation in electricity and investment.

The Indonesian leader also metIranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini and other officials.

Indonesia and Iran establisheddiplomatic ties in 1950 and in August this year, Indonesia announced that itwill soon make a decision on cooperation with Iran in building an oil refineryin Indonesia.

🍃 The plant is planned to be builton Java island and is scheduled to be completed after four or five years, at a costof about 8.4 billion USD.-VNA
